Field Trip Day :)

Last week I got the pleasure of tagging along on my son's field trip. His class went to the Brookshire's Wildlife Museum in Tyler, TX. Way back when my son was baby, I took him there along with his two older siblings. It's a fun place to take the kiddos & best of all..... It's FREE!!! We had a fun time, well except for my youngest being all cranky & what not... Ugh, 3yr olds! Well, just wanted to share some pics of our adventure...

Little boys love trains!

Just a swinging!

"I like your slippers!"

"Rawr!!!"

Thought this was beautiful :)

Me & my middle son!

And around and around they go....

Fun fun day! So glad I was able to go with my son & his class!

Clothespins Crafts

Look at me... Being all crafty lately! Adding yet another craft completed that I found on Pinterest! Or make that two clothespins crafts completed in one evening! Yay me! Still need to purchase some magnets for the other clothespin craft I've got my eye on... but for now I'm proud to say I can check two more things off my Pinterest-To-Do (or make) List :)

First crafty clothespin inspired idea came from this:

In case you can't tell what it is for (and since I couldn't get a link back to where it came from), I'll tell ya... It's a door hanging chore chart! Chores written on one side of clothespin, then attached to each child's own personalized door hanger... once a chore has been completed, turn the clothespin over and move to the other side of the door hanger.

First I gathered all supplies need: Clothespins (duh!), marker, paints, door hangers (I found some colorful foam ones), and pretty much anything you want to use to decorate it with...

And here's how ours turned out:

For our second craft I got inspired by this:

If I managed to do that right, you should be able to link back to the blog this idea (and picture) came from by clicking on the image above (fingers crossed!!).

My kiddos got involved and decorated their own behavior clothespins (that's what I'm calling those nifty clothespins on the visor). They were pretty creative with it! So, here's how theirs turned out:

Yep, my kiddos are pretty unique I'd have to say! Love them!!!

Well, there's my craftiness for now... Ta ta!

Slime Time!

Yet another project curtosy Pinterest!

Found this pin for homemade (glow in the dark) slime. Thanks to a friend I decided to give it a go with the kiddos... And here I was gonna do another round of crayon heart... blah! Slime is where it's at! The kiddos (minus my preteen cause she's just too cool for slime making) absolutely loved it! I didn't bother with the glow in the dark aspect, but the slime part we did!

Here's the lowdown on our slime adventure:

I gathered my supplies-

I added 1tsp Borax to
1cup water and mix well-

Because I was doing for this for 4 people, I did a 1/4cup glue mixed with 1/4cup water, stirred well-

Next I added food coloring of my liking-

Then we added a little Borax
at a time as we stirred-

Slime started to form-

It's an ooey gooey
messy good time-

But it's loads of fun!

Now go make your own slime.... The pink slime is all mine!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot Pinterest!

Now because of you I have all these recipes I wanna try, crafts I wanna do with the kiddos, ideas for the home, clothes I feel I must have, makeup & nail & hair techniques I must do, tattoos I wanna get, and exercises that are necessary! Yea, thanks a bunch Pinterest! Like I have the time to do all the things I find on there!

I have a running list of items I must find or purchase to make & do all the crafts or DIY ideas... Today we'll be making slime, thanks to Pinterest! Tomorrow, who knows??? I told hubs I need a bunch of wooden clothes pins asap.... tons of ideas found on Pinterest to do with wooden clothes pins! From chore list, to car behavior, to fridge magnets... I'm gonna be a busy momma!

Have I even mentioned chalk board paint yet??? I want to chalk board paint sooooooo much! The kitchen, bedroom doors, a wall in the boys room, areas all over the house! Think that's what I'll start asking for for Christmas & birthdays.... "oh, just buy me chalk board paint or a gift card to HomeDepo"... LOL!

Because of Pinterest I've been inspired to get back in the kitchen & start doing some cooking, both for me (healthy cooking) & for the fam. Oh boy, I'm gonna be a cooking maniac!

My nails & makeup & hair have already been subjected to ideas found on Pinterest! Btw, I need more dang nail polish remover if I'm gonna keep redoing my nails every other freakin day! Oh, & long thick hair would be great so I can actually pull off some of these ideas my poor fine thin hair just can't do...

And lets talk 'bucket lists'... never ever had one before Pinterest.... Now there's a HUGE list of things I wanna do before I kill over.... better get started soon!

Darn you Pinterest! There's not enough hours in my days to ever accomplish all the wonderful things I've pinned & liked!!! I'll be damned if I won't try my hardest to do most though....

Feeling Crafty!

Ever since I found this idea on Pinterest I knew me & the kiddos had to try it!

Crayon Hearts! What could be more appropriate for VDay??? I was planning on doing this with all the kiddos, but it seemed my older two wouldn't be back till late. So, the hubs, lil boys, & I got to work on this fun/easy craft.

I already prepared ahead of time & bought a silicone muffin pan with heart shapes similar to the one in the pic. I also thought ahead & bought a brand new box of crayons for the kids, since I knew we'd be using up all the old & busted ones for this project.

We had to remove the paper for a few & break up all the crayons. Then we loaded the heart shaped cups with different colored crayons like so....

Then we put it in the oven at 275 for like 12mins (we had to adjust from the suggested cause they just weren't melting hardly).

Once the crayons seemed fully melted we removed them & let them sit on the counter to cool... (yes they look like poop soup! LoL!)

After they were done cooling (like 30-45mins) we popped them out & we had pretty crayon hearts!

Well, that was fun! The boys enjoyed it that's for sure! They each gave one to their Grandma B, which was too cute! The older two weren't thrilled we did this without them, so looks like we'll be doing a repeat on or before VDay (along with the heart muffins & heart cupcakes I plan to bake with the kids)....

That's all for now folks..... Bye-bye!

Let's talk cell phones man....

Ok, so here's the thing... My idiot ex decided (without actually discussing the matter with me) to get my 10yr old son a cell phone for Christmas. He told me he was doing this, but never once asked my opinion. I kinda get his reasons behind it... sorta kinda.... but the fact of the matter is I don't believe a 10yr old child has any need for a cell phone. I didn't like the idea from the start, but I went along with it to humor his dad. Now that I've made my feelings on the cell phone situation clear I'm suddenly an awful mother who's using the phone to hurt my ex??? Wow! My own son didn't seem to care when I told him the rules, but his father sure threw a huge fit! Not like I'm cutting all communication off. I made it clear to my son that if he wants to contact his dad I'd turn the phone on for him to do so.... And surprise surprise my son never once asked!

Part of the reason I made the final decision to limit the cell phone usage was I feel my ex is taking advantage of the whole thing. He calls or texts every other day. That alone isn't a huge deal, but when he's talking to our son he asks him all sorts of questions like he's wants to know every detail of our home life. Now, I've got nothing to hide, but his dad twists things to make even the simplest thing seem horrible. Here at our house all the kids have chores that are appropriate for their age. My 10yr old son does his room, a litter box, the kids bathroom, and sometimes I'll have him pick up and sweep the game room. Really it's not much. His dad's all like, "how many chores do you have to do? Do you do that before or after homework?" that sorta thing. And his dad will tell him things like, "you need to text these people before you finish your chores..." or "tell your step-dad he has to practice guitar with you every night". He questions when we eat dinner, what we eat, if our son brushed his teeth yet... All sorts of shit! I hardly ever call up to talk to our son when he's with his dad (usually if it's a holiday) and I don't pry. I ask if he's having fun and what not, but I don't ask any details. I know his dad takes good care of him..... as do I.... so there's no need to know any specifics. I make it clear to our son that he follows his dads rules at his dad's house and our rules here at home.

His dad complains that he doesn't like to call my phone cause I'm often not around our son.... What? I work and run errands for this household, other than that I'm usually always here taking care of the kids and the house. Hubs and I rarely get a night out without the kids.... I honestly don't know what the fuck he's talking about???

I swear the man tries to make it seem like I'm an awful parent. He told my hubs recently that last year we didn't make our son do homework all the time.... Hold the fuck up! First off I know exactly what he's referring to and that was the year before last. That year our son would have to do homework from pretty much the second he got home till it was nearly bed time with only a break for dinner.... the crazy ass teacher didn't bother to notice that one of the reasons my son was struggling so much was that he had dyslexia. I took the steps to have him diagnosed with it last year. And he says we aren't having him do all the reading he's supposed to this year and because we don't have him read more pages that's why he got a low grade recently. Wrong! There is not a set amount of pages to read, she doesn't grade on pages. He has to read for 15mins and we sign off. We do this every night, but for some reason my son doesn't always turn the paper in. And about the amount of pages he reads.... Well if the idiot ex would have our son read real books that don't have nearly the entire page filled with pictures, and instead a book filled only with words then he wouldn't go through 3x as many pages with his dad than he does with us.... Idiot ex literally told hubs that I need to work better with him, that it's MY fault.... Oh and supposedly we don't make our son brush his teeth either... Yea, even though the child has never once had a freakin cavity!

I seriously can't even be near the asshat cause he's pissing me off sooooo damn much lately! No, I don't care what the fuck the maggot thinks, but yea it irritates me just the same... Trying to tell me I'm a horrible mom and I'm hurting my son because I don't agree with him having a cell phone?! Grow the fuck up! You do you, I do me.... Regardless of what he presumes, I know I'm a great mother.... And I've got 4 happy, healthy, beautiful children to prove it! And yea this blog sorta rambled on and on... oh well! Guess that's my vent for the week.... Ta ta!
